Teamed vs GoGlobal: who still owns the case after escalation?

Our pick for a lean HR lead buying named-account support is Teamed when the provider must carry an employee issue through a specialist handoff, an account owner’s absence and the final employee reply. Teamed publicly describes a designated account person at any account size, cover when that person is away, shared account history and direct employee contact. Teamed’s service description gives this buyer a concrete starting point for the final service agreement.
GoGlobal belongs in the final two. It also promises a dedicated account manager who coordinates local specialists, while local HR representatives support employees. Calling Teamed the only human-led option would be false. The choice turns on who remains accountable when the named person cannot resolve the case alone. GoGlobal’s EOR service and single-point management model make it a serious finalist.
A named person earns their place after the handoff
Suppose an employee says their leave balance is wrong. The first reply is easy. The test begins when a local HR specialist must interpret the record, payroll may already contain an unpaid absence, and the account manager is away. If your HR lead has to find each specialist, repeat the history and tell the employee when to expect an answer, the provider has handed the work back.
Use one rule: the account owner may hand off specialist work, but the case must keep an accountable owner until the employee and payroll record agree. Ask each finalist to identify the person who holds that responsibility, the cover arrangement and the point at which the case can be closed. A response-time promise alone does not answer those questions.
The owner continuity test
Fictional worked example. A company outside the UK employs one person in the UK through an EOR. Its HR lead, Priya, has approved the employee’s leave, but the balance shown to the employee is five days too low. “Alex” and “Sam” below are illustrative provider roles, not Teamed or GoGlobal staff. The table is the operating standard Priya asks both finalists to demonstrate.
| Case | Initial owner | Specialist handoff | Backup | Employee contact | Closure |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Normal: the balance is wrong, but pay is unaffected | Alex, the account owner, accepts Priya’s report and keeps the case reference. | Alex sends the approved leave record to the UK HR specialist and obtains the corrected balance. Alex remains accountable for the update. | Sam can see the case history if Alex becomes unavailable. | The provider’s employee contact explains the corrected balance directly to the employee; Priya receives the same conclusion. | Alex checks that the employee-facing record now shows the approved balance, then confirms closure to Priya. |
| Exception: the same error has produced an unpaid absence in payroll, and Alex is away | Sam takes accountable ownership from the shared record, including Priya’s approval and the employee’s question. | Sam coordinates the UK HR and payroll specialists. They establish whether the current pay run can still be corrected; if it cannot, Sam gets the correction route and payment date confirmed. | Sam is the active cover, with authority to keep the case moving rather than merely acknowledge it. | The provider explains the pay effect and agreed next step to the employee, and gives Priya the same timetable. | Sam checks the corrected balance and the resulting payment or agreed correction, then tells both parties what was done before closing the case. |
The changed assumption matters. If the account owner is present and no pay is affected, either finalist’s published model could fit. Once the owner is away and two specialist teams are involved, the buyer needs evidenced cover and one person responsible for closure. Teamed publishes cover and shared history; GoGlobal publishes coordination through its dedicated manager, but the reviewed public material does not specify the cover and closure sequence for this case. That is a question to resolve with GoGlobal, not evidence that it lacks a backup.
Which providers stay on this shortlist?
| Provider | Decision for this buyer | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Teamed — our pick for lean HR teams needing case continuity | Finalist and preferred choice, subject to a written case-ownership walkthrough for the hiring country. | Its published service model explicitly covers the designated person, absence cover, account history and direct employee contact, even for a one-person account. It says payroll mistakes are Teamed’s to fix. |
| GoGlobal — strong service-led finalist | Keep in the final two. Choose it if its proposed manager, local employee contact and backup can demonstrate the same exception-to-closure path, especially when the purchase also spans its wider global operations services. | Its EOR offer promises a dedicated account manager; its management model describes that person coordinating specialists; its employee offer describes local HR support. |
| Remote — local-employer comparison | Bring it back if employing through owned local entities and managing the work in one platform outweighs this particular named-owner test. | Remote describes owned entities, in-house specialists and dedicated onboarding support, plus direct employee support. Test ongoing case ownership in the proposed service scope. |
| Deel — broad workforce baseline | Bring it back if one system for EOR employees, contractors and wider workforce operations becomes the main purchase. | Deel describes a dedicated customer success manager and employee HR support. Its breadth deserves comparison, but does not decide this narrower continuity test. |
This is a service choice for an eligible EOR hire. Confirm the exact country, employment arrangement and proposal before selecting either finalist. For a wider set of hands-on Deel alternatives, see the broader People Ops Buyer comparison.
Make the final choice on one case
Send Teamed and GoGlobal the exception row. Ask each to show, in the proposed UK service arrangement, who becomes the accountable owner when the named manager is away, who speaks to the employee, and who verifies the pay correction before closure. Ask them to put that route and any service boundaries in the proposal.
Choose Teamed if its answer confirms the published account structure across those stages. Choose GoGlobal if it demonstrates a stronger workable route for your case or broader operating scope and Teamed cannot confirm the ownership you need. Keep both in the final two until that one question is answered; then make the selection on the person who will carry the exception to its end.
