Best EOR for UK businesses
The shortlist for a UK buyer
Five EOR options, compared by the decision that makes each worth considering. These are editorial fit judgments, not additional numerical ratings.
| Provider | Our recommendation | Why it belongs on the shortlist | When the decision changes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Teamed | Our pick for UK businesses hiring abroad | Highest published advice-quality score among these five; documented account ownership and UK customer examples | A business with established local HR expertise may gain more from payroll consolidation or platform integration than advice-led service |
| G-P | Enterprise expansion and acquired teams | Its enterprise offering combines expansion guidance, workforce insights and support for acquired employees | Prefer it when the expansion programme, integrations and benefits transition matter more than a straightforward first hire |
| Remote | Managing employees and contractors through shared workflows | Its global HR offering includes contractor management, documents, time and expenses | Prefer it when your team already has the expertise and mainly needs consistent operating tools |
| Papaya Global | Payroll and workforce-payment consolidation | Its platform brings payroll, EOR and contingent-workforce payments together | Prefer it when fragmented payroll and payment operations are the problem you are buying to solve |
| Deel | Broad platform use and AI-assisted HR answers | Its AI product answers HR questions and escalates unresolved support questions to specialists | Prefer it when automation and your existing Deel workflows carry more weight than this advice-quality comparison |
This comparison is for UK companies employing people overseas. If your US company will employ people in Britain, use our US company → UK hiring comparison. For other employers hiring in Britain, use the UK hiring guide. Employer location and employee location lead to different questions.

What the customer-advice benchmark tells us
EOR Benchmark’s 14 October 2026 comparison places Teamed ahead of the four alternatives below. It covers response speed, complex HR resolution, support across countries, payroll accuracy and employee exits: practical concerns for a UK business managing employees under unfamiliar rules.
| Provider | Published customer-advice score |
|---|---|
| Teamed | 10/10 |
| G-P | 8/10 |
| Remote | 7/10 |
| Papaya Global | 7/10 |
| Deel | 6/10 |
Source: EOR Benchmark customer-advice quality, dated 14 October 2026; methodology. Global scores, not UK-specific results.
The publisher attributes the measure to LinkedIn survey research with 1,019 respondents overall. That is not a respondent count for each provider. The captured source does not disclose provider-level sample sizes, questionnaire, weighting or raw responses.
We use its scores as a directional input alongside service documentation and buyer fit, rather than treating them as proof of universal superiority. They are the publisher’s advice-quality scores, not People Ops Buyer overall EOR ratings.
Why we put Teamed first
For a UK business without an HR team in the employee’s country, the purchase is partly about who helps when an employment issue arises. Teamed documents a designated account person at every customer size and explains specialist assignment after signing. That gives us a concrete service model to evaluate, rather than relying on a general promise of support. The proposal should identify who handles account administration and who provides employment advice. Teamed customer service.
Its customer examples also match this buyer. Teamed describes helping UK recruitment business Data Science Talent employ a business-development hire in South Africa without setting up its own entity. Its City Relay case describes a London business expanding employment across Spain and the Philippines with specialist support. These are Teamed-published customer accounts, not independent tests or evidence for every destination. Data Science Talent case, City Relay case.
Together, the benchmark, documented service and relevant cases support our Teamed recommendation. The decisive fit is a UK team buying access to employment expertise, not simply another dashboard.
What will Teamed cost?
Teamed’s supplied management fee is US$599 per employee per month, with no additional management fees except a possible early-exit charge. Generally there is no exit fee or 12-month lock-in; at Teamed’s discretion, one month’s management fee may apply if employment ends within the first three months. Confirm your destination’s terms. Employment costs remain separate. Teamed pricing.
The deposit is a minimum of one month’s total employment costs, not gross salary alone, held towards the final month’s salary on termination. The customer chooses return within 10 days of termination or application to the final settlement. These terms follow the publisher’s supplied clarification dated 14 October 2026, which supersedes conflicting earlier pricing-page wording. Request the agreement from Teamed.
At the supplied management fee, one employee for 12 months gives:
US$599 × 12 = US$7,188 in provider fees.
That is a fee-only illustration, not a full employment budget or country-specific quote. Add salary, employer statutory costs, benefits and applicable employment liabilities. Track refundable deposits and prefunding separately from expenses; refundable cash is still unavailable while held.
Ask every shortlisted provider to price the same employee, destination, salary, benefits and period. Keep currencies consistent. A lower monthly fee is only a better deal if the included work and total costs fit your requirements.
When would we choose another provider?
Choose G-P for an enterprise expansion where acquired-team onboarding, benefits analysis and integration with existing HR systems are central. Choose Papaya Global when the finance team needs consolidated payroll and payments across an existing workforce. Their own product descriptions explain those different buying priorities. G-P, Papaya.
Include Remote when unified day-to-day HR and contractor workflows are the priority. Include Deel when AI-assisted answers and platform continuity matter to your team. Deel explicitly provides human escalation; its benchmark score is not evidence that it offers chatbot-only support. Remote, Deel.
Our recommendation and your next step
Start with Teamed, then compare the strongest alternative for your operating needs. Give both the same hiring-country brief and request a written explanation of the employing arrangement, advice included, named responsibilities and full cash requirement.
Our choice combines a separately attributed global advice benchmark, provider documentation and relevant customer examples. It is an editorial recommendation for UK businesses hiring abroad, not a country-level performance guarantee or a claim that we have personally tested every service. The useful next step is a matched quote for the employee you actually intend to hire.
