When would your own entity make sense?

People Ops Buyer research desk · Updated

Compare the same employment costs over the same period, then add the operating work, setup and transition costs of an entity. A cheaper modelled total does not establish that an entity is ready or legally able to employ.

The Swiss-labelled example contains fictional GBP planning inputs, not Swiss statutory rates or supplier prices. Half an internal FTE is an editable planning assumption. Replace every cost with scoped evidence and confirm operating readiness before acting.

Ten employees at £3,000 employment cost each, £500 EOR fee per hire, and the default entity inputs give £35,000 EOR monthly cost and £34,350 entity monthly cost. Over 12 months, including £12,000 entity setup and one month of EOR-fee overlap, totals are £420,000 and £429,200.

Method and evidence

Common employment costs appear once in both routes. Entity cost adds local payroll and entered operating categories; transition overlap adds EOR provider charges only, not salary again. Refundable EOR deposits affect first cash, not horizon expense. Sensitivity comes from changing headcount and horizon; the crossover is specific to these constant inputs.

Existing entity operating-cost framework (Spain; categories reused, no Swiss rates transferred). These tools reuse the existing research and calculation patterns. Worked prices, dates, owners and service scenarios are illustrative. Replace them with confirmed inputs.
