Expected payroll of £30,000 and a revised £30,600 amount gives a £600 discrepancy. Investigation requires an owner and evidence; approval requires an approver; resolution requires confirmation of execution. Changing material case inputs returns it to alerted; adding execution confirmation preserves approval.

Method and evidence
Each explicit action advances one state: alerted → investigated → approved → resolved. Editing amounts, case context, evidence or owners invalidates prior approval and returns the case to alerted. Adding execution confirmation preserves approval. The exported history records the user’s actions and timestamps, not independent evidence of provider performance.
Suggested payroll-change buying exercise. These tools reuse the existing research and calculation patterns. Worked prices, dates, owners and service scenarios are illustrative. Replace them with confirmed inputs.
